I have just finished going through all the articles edited by RahmanuddinBot back in October 2015, reverting and reducing the links added by that bot. Specifically, I have fixed three main problems it introduced:
- "overlinking" (multiple links to the same target)
- "broken text" (partial-word links that split text at a combining character)
- links added inside of other links (I tried to ignore image captions, since that's a legitimate use of a link inside of another link)
I have to admit, I got more and more "zealous" with my reverting as I went along, but I didn't remove all the links added by the bot, nor did I revert the vast majority of the whitespace changes it did, since those were mostly legitimate.
In the process of doing this, I came across a huge number of (presumably) human-caused problems in the articles, which I hope to start tackling sometime "soon". (Actually, some of them I fixed as I was fixing the things listed above. Many I just left for later.)
