The Discoverer tnx and will surely do it but import is not yet enabled by phabricator i have filed a report for it in advance but its still pending, mean while i created others things which only admin can so i am on with admin work....i have some where around 200 templates to import for picture upload feature and 300 flag templates...it will take some time but i ll do it surely...

Thoda Correction in Template[बदल]

Hello Mishraji, Kaise Ho ? thoda correction karna tha. In the page ‘ Recent changes’ the template has some words which are in Hindi/Marathi. I am giving below the Konkani equivalent of this words. It would make it more Konkani centric once the changes are made :

Interface language selector[बदल]

It was a good idea to change the labels of the language selector to Konknni and कोंकणी and remove the unnecessary Canadian English. Your latest change has made it much neater and elegant. I don't have a problem if you want to keep the option 'gom-knda', but it's pointless, because this localisation doesn't exist at all and it just falls back to English (en). Thanks for importing the templates and making the changes. Regarding the templates Mediawiki:Sp-contributions-footer, Mediawiki:Histlegend and Mediawiki:Sp-contributions-footer-anon, have you noticed that they are not appearing on the respective pages when the interface language is gom-deva or gom-latn, but they are only appearing if the interface language is gom? The Discoverer default script of this wikipedia is devnagri and code is gom, rest all gom-dev and gom-latin are added on request, so it is following default codes...thats why this problem....but any how it is working at 1 place to its enough because even on serbian wikipedia same issues exist which is fully bi-script....Sushilmishra (उलोयात) 22:46, 27 जुलय 2015 (IST)[जबाब]

I think the reason that Template:Gõy‎ and Template:Konkani language topics are not displaying properly may be that we don't have the common.css: en:MediaWiki:Common.css; Please could you import this? What I'm suggesting is that Mediawiki:Sp-contributions-footer should contain the following code (just like en:Mediawiki:Sp-contributions-footer)):

  • The Discoverer please provide devnagri konkani word for stubb....i knew this dispute of devnagri and latin will arise so thats why created different templates for latin and devnagri but you merged it into latin script name.....you very well know the dispute between scripts....just to avoid those i am creating multiple scripted templates....earlier Template:Dhaktem pan had only latin script and Template:आधार had only devnagri script, but you merged it into 1 and kept it on template with latin name....what was the intention behind it?, if spelling was wrong then we would have corrected it mate....just to avoid future disputes i protected it.....i will change the name of that template need not worry....but merging two scripts might create dispute you know about it....so please avoid such activity....
  • and mate even i can say too - If you disagree with another editor's changes, you must discuss it with the other editor first. Going ahead and nominating for deleting a page in order to prevent others from editing it, would be an abuse of powers....did you discuss before merging two different scripted content? You decided and merged, not only that you changed it on article pages too...did you discussed it before doing? I guess no....now who abused the power here...
  • are you sure you were not biased....you corrected wrong name in latin script...but you didnot correct in devnagri script.....later you merged conent from devnagri script to latin named template....and nominated devnagri named template for deletion.....this is unfair right....this showed you were bias....धाक्टें पान

Hello Sushilmishra, I admit I over-reacted when you protected the templates with the name adar, and I'm sorry for that. If you had clearly mentioned that you are protecting the page "just to avoid future disputes", then everything would have been ok, but your comment "Counter-productive edit warring" makes it look like you were trying to stop an edit war, when there was no edit war.

As I have already told you, the reason I merged it is because I felt that a single template can be used for both scripts. There is no rule that there cannot be a single template or a single article or a single category for both the scripts. See for example मुखेल_पान, Mediawiki:Recentchangestext, Category:Devachem Utor, etc. No one has any problem with having two scripts in a single template or page, then why are you creating an issue out of it? There is no problem whether you keep the template name in the devanagari or latin script, because finally the name of the template is not visible on the page, and all the text that was visible was in both the scripts. If someone had to do exactly what I had done, but kept the devanagari name for the template instead of the latin name, I would have absolutely no problem with that. However, if you prefer to have two separate templates, it's ok for me.

When I nominated the template adar for deletion, it would have been but obvious for anyone who knows Konkani that adar is the wrong word for stub. I have great love for Konkani, and I respect both the devanagari and latin scripts equally. But, since my spellings in devanagari are quite bad, and I am more comfortable in typing in the latin script, I mostly contribute in the latin script and prefer that editors who prefer to edit in the devanagari script can go ahead and do the relevant script. This has absolutely nothing to do with bias. There is no compulsion that editors have to edit in both scripts equally. What you are saying is like if I edit all topics related to cars and I don't edit articles related to aeroplanes, then I'm biased towards cars. No, I am free to edit on any topic that I wish and in which I am comfortable. I don't think that any editor here can be said biased towards any script. The only case in which I would say someone is biased is for example if someone says that a certain script should not be used in Wikipedia.

Please if I post many requests to you, don't take it as an order.. it is just a request. It's just that I like to note down my requests quickly, so that I don't forget it. Please free to take your time to act on my requests. When you asked me to move pages, I did go to move pages on the same day, but all pages beginning with wp/gom were already moved by Rosario Fernandes. There were some remaining pages beginning with wp/gom that were duplicates of those already existing, and I nominated them for deletion. I did not ignore your request to help move pages. After you requested me to create new pages, I have been busy and not been on Wikipedia much, hence I could not create new pages.

Finally, I would like to say that I sincerely appreciate the work you are doing in the Konkani Wikipedia. I am sorry for the misunderstanding caused, I did not have any wrong intention or bias in anything that I did, and I understand that you also had good intentions in whatever you did. The Discoverer chill out mate, relax....i dont mind such things....:-p...infact it helps to understand others better....point is, i have seen people fighting over script and create huge issue out of it....example-originally there was only 1 punjabi wikipedia with 2 scripts gurumukhi and shahmukhi....shahmukhi script writers felt that gurumukhi writers are forming majority so they broke from pa.wiki and created western panjabi wiki (pnb.wiki)....similar situation arosed on serbian wikipedia too but it was brushed under the mat.....i only hope that gom.wiki dont have to face such issue, so i carefully tried to seperate both scripts....
and about move, i requested rosario to do it when you failed to turn up...

In my opinion, we will not see the kind of fighting that you mentioned in the Punjabi and Serbian Wikipedias; the reason being that in Konkani there is really no fight between Devanagari and Latin script users. The only activism is regarding the demand for giving official status to various scripts (at present only Devanagari has official status in Goa). But I think that Latin users do not have anything against Devanagari, and Devanagari users don't have anything against Latin. You can see this reflected in the Konkani Wikipedia, where right from the incubator days until now, no one has said anything against any other script.
We need to be careful about separating the scripts. If there is no connection, exchange and dialog between the two scripts, then it becomes equivalent to creating two separate encyclopedias on one site, and this is not a desirable situation, because it can lead to en:WP:Content Forks. For this reason, in cases where multiple subgroups of a language have big differences to the extent that they cannot collaborate, the policy of the Wikimedia Foundation is to have separate Wikipedias rather than have separation / duplication on a single Wikipedia.

Mishraji, I find that the category Wp/gom/Mhonn'nneo has been created anew on Konknni Wikipedia instead of it being imported from the Incubator. The history of the pages have gone missing !!!

Hi Sushilmishra, you will recall that three templates, Mediawiki:Sp-contributions-footer, Mediawiki:Histlegend and Mediawiki:Sp-contributions-footer-anon, are not appearing on the respective pages when the interface language is gom-deva or gom-latn, but they are only appearing if the interface language is gom. I think I may have found the solution for this. What they have done in the English Wikipedia, is that they have created another templates like en:MediaWiki:Histlegend/en-gb, en:MediaWiki:Sp-contributions-footer/en-gb and en:MediaWiki:Sp-contributions-footer-anon/en-gb with exactly the same content so that the interface language en-gb works.

So I guess the solution for the Konkani Wikipedia will be to create:

Hi Sushilmishra, I hope that whatever problems you are facing will be solved soon. I have done the translations for Histlegend. There is no hurry, you can do the updation whenever you get time.

Step 3: Delete Mediawiki:Histlegend (because the software automatically takes Mediawiki:Histlegend/gom-deva instead of Mediawiki:Histlegend)
Step 4: Delete User talk:The Discoverer/Mediawiki:Histlegend/gom-latn and User talk:The Discoverer/Mediawiki:Histlegend/gom-deva (useless)

Thanks Sushilmishra. Regarding Step 3, it's not supposed to display if you open the template page. Rather, when you view any page history with the interface language as gom, then it should automatically take histlegend/gom-deva if it doesn't find histlegend. I think, before you imported histlegend from the english Wikipedia, histlegend/gom-deva and histlegend/gom-latn were already existing, there was no histlegend, and it used to show histlegend/gom-deva when the interface language was gom. Vaishali Parab ji please click here you will find all the pages that you created until now...and new page which you created व्हॅनेझुएला already existed with alternate spelling check व्हेनेझुएला...and references which you are adding is incorrect, you are adding other wikipedias as reference this is incorrect...thats why i asked you on your talk page to go through all those wikipedia rules as it will help you in editing....check this page व्हेनेझुएला i have given few references in it, you need to give such references....Sushilmishra (उलयात) 16:37, 25 ऑगस्ट 2015 (IST)[जबाब]
@Vaishali Parab: check page मैनचेस्टर युनायटेड फुटबॉल क्लब here you can see i am not using other wikipedia address as references, i am using websites that are non-wikipedia to give as reference....in easy words if you are creating a page about goa, here you have to add references from website of govt of india or govt of goa and you should not add references with link to english wikipedia website or other language wikipedia websites
if you go to any english wikipedia page about any topic at bottom you will find a section named references....in those you can see many sites that are being used as references...you can use those sites as references here too but not directly other wikipedia page....
after you finish creating a page then at the bottom of it add following code [[en:(write here name of page on english wiki)]] (remove () too while writing english wiki page name), it will help to link page to interwiki...example if you creating page about MUMBAI then at the bottom add [[en:Mumbai]]....to see it working you can visit latin version of page Manchester United Football Club...in case of any questions regarding this or help related to edit you can message me...happy editing...Sushilmishra (उलयात) 16:55, 25 ऑगस्ट 2015 (IST)[जबाब]
