We have a Script policy for the Konkani Wikipedia, but it has not been formally adopted by the community. I propose that we should have a discussion and adopt this policy by consensus.
We can make changes in the policy before we adopt it. For instance, we may decide to remove the restriction to use only scripts supported by Konkanverter (viz. Devanagari, Romi and Kannada) and formally open it up to the Malayalam and Perso-Arabic scripts as well.

I support allowing Malayalam and Perso-Arabic scripts.
It seems the policy was written before Konkanverter added Malayalam support. The current active version has Malayalam transliteration. So Malayalam script can be allowed on the same basis as other scripts.
The Kurdish Wikipedia uses this tool for Latin-Arabic transliteration. I tried Konkani transliteration using it.
I gave a Romi Konkani article as input, took the Arabic script output and retransliterated it to Roman. The result was fairly good and comparable to the level we get for Devanagari-Romi in Konkanverter. Anyone who can read Perso-Arabic script can better access whether the Konkani transliteration from this tool is usable.
There might be interface issues for Perso-Arabic script since it is a right to left script. This is something that needs to be tested. However as a matter of policy, Perso-Arabic script can be supported since transliteration is available.
