The Kashmiri language Wikipedia (kswiki) uses both Perso-Arabic and Devanagari script pages. In this regard, it is similar to Konkani Wikipedia. Currently in Konkani, use the सांचो:VR, सांचो:VD and सांचो:VK templates to link pages in the three scripts with each other. Kashmiri Wikipedia used the same system too.

However @Ernesztina has recently introduced a Toggle system in Kashmiri Wikipedia. The Toggle system creates a better linking and navigation between the different script pages. An example of that can be seen here - ks:कॅशीर. More examples in the incubator Wp/sgh can be found here

I propose that the same system to introduced in Konkani Wikipedia. Here we have three scripts and the toggle will be more useful than the current templates.

I request anyone with the technical know-how on Toggle system for their input and help for implementing it in Konkani Wikipedia.

I have copied the code from Kashmiri and created five templates for the purpose of Toggle. They are सांचो:Toggle, सांचो:PD, सांचो:PR, सांचो:1 and सांचो:2. After testing in Sandbox, I have successfully added them to two pages in different scripts - इक्बाल, मुहंबद and Muhammad Iqbal. Please check them out and see the source code of the pages for how to place the templates. Feedback it welcome.

Thanks @AVSmalnad77. This looks quite elegant and we can probably modify this to fit the Konkani Wikipedia better. In fact, I think that maybe we can modify them and name then as VD, VR and VK in order that they automatically work in place of the templates we use at present. I will have a detailed look at this later. If you want any help to make changes to the templates, do let me know, I have some experience with templates.

I am glad you liked it. I don't have experience with template editing, I just copied the code from Kashmiri. So please do improve them whichever way is more suitable for Konkani. Once they are perfected, they can be mass applied to pages.

I took a look at this set of templates and I have made some changes, which I hope will improve the usability. First of all, the template Toggle was not needed as it was just a duplicate of template 1, with the documentation template added, so I have deleted Toggle. I have renamed template 1 as 'tab start', template PD as 'tab active', template PR as 'tab inactive', and template 2 as 'tab end'. I have written some documentation that you can read at सांचो:Tab start, to help explain how to use these templates.

I have updated इक्बाल, मुहंबद and Muhammad Iqbal and also added tabs to Konknni bhas, कोंकणी भास and ಕೊಂಕ್ಣಿ ಭಾಸ್ to show how it can be used for pages in three scripts.

In comparison to using VD, VR and VK, the syntax for this tabs system seems a little complex to me in its present state for widespread use. I will try to see if I create a tabs system for different scripts with simple syntax so that the user doesn't have to manually type a lot.

I have created Template:Lipi, which does the same thing, but with a simple syntax. I have implemented it for मदर तेरेझा, Mother Teresa and ಮದರ್ ತೆರೆಜಾ. I still have to do the documentation for this new template.

This is great @The Discoverer. The सांचो:Lipi is simple and efficient to use. Once you have finished refining it, I can give a hand with mass applying it to pages. I guess it will take me alone less than 3 days to apply it to all relevant pages, so its probably better not to spend time developing a bot for this anyway.

Hi @AVSmalnad77. I think that the Lipi template is ready to use now. Before we replace it in all the pages, I want to check with long-time contributors like @Konknni mogi 24 and @Isidore Dantas1 to ensure that they are on board.

@AVSmalnad77, I think we can go ahead with implementing the template सांचो:Lipi in all articles. Isidore Dantas has supported the move but I could not get in touch with Konknni mogi 24. I will work on adding this template whenever I have time.

I have done the replacement for some pages. Since this is a new template, please be alert to notice in case the template breaks something else.

I used AutoWikiBrowser's find and replace function to replace the occurrences of the template VR in all Devanagari pages by the template Lipi. This will reduce our workload a little. This will not work for VD and VK and we will have to do these manually.

Ok. I will start replacing them too and will watch out for any bugs.
